We have found out that 85% of parents think that their children shouldn’t take part in the 14-year-olds SATs any more. Most 14-year-olds agree that they should not have SATs any longer. We have asked some people around the school and here is what they have to say. Teachers have said that, “kids need more freedom to enjoy being young as they only have one life to live.” Year 11 pupils had two different opinions, one was from a girl called Lois and she said SATs helped her so the teachers could put her in a higher set in subjects or in lower sets if she was struggling. So if she was struggling they could help her before her GCSE and she may get a better result in her exams. Others said that it is a waste of time and the SATs don’t cover most of the topics. But it is better for different exam revisions. Year 8 have said that "We would rather not do Sats but they are good for our education and revision." |
